Digital Asset Management ("DAM") Search Powered By Lucy
With Lucy, our goal is always to connect to the most valuable data at your organization. With our latest evolution, Lucy can now connect and search content hosted within your team's DAM Platform. With a DAM integration, users in Lucy can search for images alongside other answer units.
Integration Overview
Lucy provides an integrated experience between searching files and digital assets (i.e. images), allowing users to discover content from their DAM platforms when searching Lucy. This integration includes building a connection mechanism to your Digital Asset Management (“DAM”) platform to allow assets to be searched and surfaced in Lucy. We've integrated with a variety of DAM platform such as Bynder, Widen Collective, among others.
Features
1. Image Indexing & Enrichment
In this approach, Lucy's indexing engine builds an index of content within DAM using metadata provided and supplementing by enriching the content with AI-tagged data using a vendor for enhanced searchability. The indexing engine represents Lucy’s backend system, which powers the creation of the index of data available for search. The engine includes several file repositories and APIs and can be customized to support indexing a variety of content structures, now including images. The image detection services are priced based on the volume of images and the Lucy team provides tracking to to meter the usage of these services, preventing unexpected overages in the indexing pipeline.
2. Question Classifier
With DAM search enabled, Lucy will automatically detect if a user is intending to search for image-related content. Lucy will recognize “questions that look like DAM questions,” use AI to extract the subject, and then provide the subject to the DAM to search/retrieve the content presented in the UI.
3. DAM Views
Depending on the question context, Lucy will either present a full view response with only image results or a blended view with both images and answer results. A DAM Answer UI has been generated, and ranks DAM results based on subject match using a design built by the Lucy team for a dedicated search index and UI around DAM assets. The Lucy team has also built a classifier for keyword overrides, allowing admins to determine which view they would like returned when users leverage a particular keyword or phrase (e.g. images, pictures, logos, etc.).
